The DW Story

An unexpected surprise.

we first met – on a friend’s sailboat

We owe it to our friends Eddy and Bella for introducing us. We met on their sailboat in December 2020.

we became friends – sailing friends

Most of our friendship was spent with other friends on the water. We sailed around Oahu and did one interisland trip to Molokai. We caught a Mahi on the Molokai trip. No sailing story is complete without a fish story. :)

we got closer – then Diane almost moved

Our love story begins late summer 2021. We were anchored out in Kaneohe Bay with friends – from then on out, we spent every day together. Our relationship started after Diane accepted a job that would to take her to Seattle.

as any good story goes – there’s a happy ending

For months we monitored if Diane would move for work. Then it was confirmed that she could work remotely.

We sailed to Kauai in June 2022 and Wayne proposed. Now here we are – inviting you to celebrate our love.

grow old with me

This song speaks to us. Love can surprise you at any age.

FAQS

As the wedding approaches, check back here. We will update the details as we go along.

We ask that Oahu-based families plan for a sitter. For traveling families, please note the attending children in the +1 section.

We invite you to celebrate with us – your presence is enough of a gift. (If you really want to give something, money for a honeymoon is much appreciated.) <3

The menu is TBD. Don’t worry though, there will be vegetarian-friendly food available.

The reception is at 4pm on February 25th at the Kaneohe Yacht Club. Please park on the street if you do not have a pass for the club.

Hawaiian casual is the dress code. Our wedding colors are monstera green and deep purple if you want to blend in.

In short, it’s a domain name Diane had sitting around. It was inspired by travel. Kaiku means echo in Finnish. And love, well, we all know what that means.

We can’t wait to share time with you!
